CHURCH
Let us not give up meeting together…
but let us encourage one another
Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)
Church, why should I go to church? Why is church important? Can’t I just stay home and read my Bible and listen to praise and worship music and God-inspired teachings?
Once you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, in addition to reading the Bible and learning the Word, setting aside time at the start of each week to spend with God at in church is another great way to grow in your relationship with Him. It is a great place to hear and be taught the Word of God and to develop your personal relationship with the Lord by getting in His presence. It is also a good place to meet other born-again believers and develop friendships with other godly people.
Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another.” Some people are deceived into thinking that they don’t need to go to church. For some, going to church is more of a chore and a hassle than a choice. Don’t view going to church as something you have to do, view it as another awesome way to spend time with the Lord and being fed the Word of God for your Spirit and encouraging and be encouraged by others.
If you are looking for a new church to go to but don’t know where to get started, pray. Ask the Lord to show you where He would have you go. Ask friends and coworkers if they have any recommendations. Make a plan to visit some churches, attend services, meet some of the people in the church, and see if the services are something you enjoy and help you grow in the Lord. Do your best to find a church that allows the Holy Spirit to be part of the service.
Some wonderful Holy Spirit-filled churches include: Church International in Warrior Alabama, Lord of Hosts Church in Omaha, Nebraska, and Regeneration Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
You will know when you find the right church for you.
